Schedule a Chimney Checkup to Eliminate Your Chimney Issues For Good

By having these four aspects maintained annually you will eliminate all chimney issues before they become major problems.

Chimney Cleaning

An annual chimney cleaning ensures that your flue is unobstructed, and that the system is working as it should. During the cleaning process is when we can see what your system is actually doing. It allows you to know how to correct issues that come from using your system.

Chimney Caps & Cowls

Leaving the top of your chimney exposed to the elements can quickly damage your chimney without you knowing. Protecting water from entering your system is a top priority to ensure costly damage doesn't occur.

Birds and animals love chimneys. Caps and cowls help deter those problems.

Damper Systems

Every fireplace has a damper system, however not all systems are the same or are the best kind for your chimney. The correct damper system for your chimney can help reduce heat loss and provide you savings on energy bills.

Chimney Waterproofing

We've learned that waterproofing a chimney doesn't come from one solution, there are always multiple issues chimneys have working against them.  Waterproofing a chimney should never be unsightly or look like a fix and covering them in paint or sealant isn't the answer either.

Cleaning your system regularly helps prevent the build up of creosote. The only way to inspect a system properly is to have a clean system.

We always take pictures of the systems we clean and inspect to show you what you have.

Before Sweeping

This build up is in the smoke chamber and is from 2 years of use, several times a week, from fall through spring.

It is impossible to see what lies under this soot build up without sweeping it away.

Whether it be damage or glazing build up you cannot tell if it is present without sweeping away the accumulated build up.

After Sweeping

This flue doesn't have any apparent damage. However, hairline fractures are hard to see, especially with glazing build up.
The shiny black on the walls is creosote glazing. This is the beginning of the creosote glazing process and it shows how easy and fast it is to accumulate this build up. It can quickly coat your system and begin to fill up any gaps or cracks in the masonry making it even harder to see hairline cracks and small areas of damage.
